Museums are stewards of rich and meaningful collections and content that naturally lends itself to publication. But how does a museum or historic site begin the journey of creating its own publications?
This session hosted by the Southeastern Museums Conference offers a comprehensive look at the why and how of museum publishing through three key perspectives: a book printer, a publishing museum, and a book designer.
Together, they will unpack both the rewards and challenges of producing books, catalogs, and magazines, while sharing practical insights into the publishing process. This session will equip attendees with tools to make museum publishing a successful and potentially profitable venture.
